When it came to designing the concept for Sara and Scott's April 1st wedding, there were two things they wanted: a little bit of whimsy and a lot of green. Both the bride and groom love the color green. The bride's engagement ring even includes two beautiful emerald stones! So for her wedding day, Sara found adorable green sequenced shoes to wear with her dress and accented her look with a pretty green beaded necklace. And Scott didn't want to look like every other groom either, so he had dark green suits custom made for himself and his best man.
Sara's bouquet was so beautiful. Made by Flowers By Lesley, it was composed of green and white parrot tulips, white scabious and scabious pods, succulents, green hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus and hanging amaranthus.
For their ceremony, Scott had always pictured something outdoors, in a natural setting, under a large tree and the Sculpture Garden in Loch Haven Park outside of the Mennello Museum provided just that. Lanterns and swirls of white rose petals lined the ceremony aisle as the wedding party entered to music played by harpist Christine MacPhail. And for something unique, Sara came down the aisle to Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here."
Sara and Scott's cocktail hour and reception took place inside the Orlando Science Center. While many couples choose to use OSC's terrace that overlooks the city, Sara just couldn't pass up the chance to dance, dine and celebrate in Dino Digs, where there are life-size skeletons of Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, and other dinosaurs.
As guests entered the Dino Digs room they were greeted by at T-rex holding a card in his mouth welcoming them to the wedding. Embellished escort cards by Embrace Calligraphy let guests know their assigned tables, which were named after various shades of green like hunter, olive, kelly and spring.
The reception tables, covered with emerald fortuny linens from Over The Top, were stunning. Green uplighting from A-List DJ Entertainment accented the room and tall centerpieces with hydrangea, tulips, curly willow and hanging votives by Flowers By Lesley had an enchanting and natural feel.
The wedding cake, by It's Tasty Too, sat on a wood cake stand and was topped with a Mr. and Mrs. Dino cake topper Sara had custom made on Etsy. Mrs. Dino even had a green and white bouquet like Sara did!
Sara and Scott entered the reception to "Walk The Dinosaur" by Was Not Was, setting the tone for the rest of the night. The dance floor stayed packed, thanks to DJ Asher with A-List DJ Entertainment. The entire day was captured by Wings of Glory Photography and, thanks to their excellent shooting skills, there's proof of the best cake-cutting smash I've ever witnessed!
Sara and Scott's wedding was so unique and so much fun to plan! We love when a couple puts so much of their personality into every detail. Thank you so much for allowing Anna Christine Events to be part of your day!
